Bishkek, Sept. 1, 2026 /Kabar/. On September 1, in Bishkek, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov handed over the baton of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Presidency to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
The handover of the presidency took place following the meeting of the SCO Heads of State Council, which was held in Bishkek under the chairmanship of Kyrgyzstan.
At the meeting, participants discussed the further development of the organization, strengthening security, and expanding economic, transport, cultural, and humanitarian cooperation. Following the meeting, 28 documents were adopted and signed.
The SCO Presidency now passes to Pakistan.
