Bishkek, July 1, 2026. /Kabar/. In Bishkek, on June 30, First Deputy Foreign Minister Asein Isayev met with François Blanci, the head of International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) in Kyrgyzstan who completes his mission.
According to the Kyrgyz Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Asel Azi Tegin, the new head of the ICRC mission in Kyrgyzstan, was introduced at the meeting.
The parties discussed the current state and prospects of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the ICRC. Kyrgyz side expressed gratitude to François Blanci for his contribution to developing cooperation and wished him success in his future endeavors. At the same time, Asein Isaev congratulated Asel Azi Tegin on his appointment to his new position and expressed his readiness for further constructive cooperation.
They noted ICRC's humanitarian mission, aimed at protecting lives and assisting victims of armed conflicts and emergencies. The high level of cooperation in the areas of international humanitarian law, protection of the population, emergency response, support for repatriated citizens, and strengthening the capacity of the National Red Crescent Society of Kyrgyzstan was also emphasized.
They also discussed the implementation of international humanitarian law, the activities of the interdepartmental commission on international humanitarian law, the creation of a National Information Bureau under the Ministry of Defense of Kyrgyzstan, and the ICRC's support in developing the capacity of government agencies.
Particular attention was paid to nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation.
Following the meeting, mutual interest in further developing cooperation on issues of mutual interest was confirmed.
