Bishkek, July 8, 2026. /Kabar/. Agreements for the import of electricity totaling 4 billion 99 million kWh have been signed with neighboring and partner countries for 2026. Energy Minister Altynbek Rysbekov announced this as part of Open Cabinet: Territory of Responsibility media project.
According to him, imported electricity, combined with domestic production, is intended to balance the load in the country's energy system and ensure uninterrupted supply to consumers.
"We monitor the efficient use of electricity and compliance with established consumption limits on a daily basis. "In April-May 2026, electric grid companies ensured compliance with established limits, resulting in overall consumption being 91.8 million kWh, or 4.3%, lower than planned. Furthermore, one of the most important areas for successfully navigating the autumn-winter period is the procurement of sufficient coal and other fuel resources," the minister stated.
