Bishkek, Oct. 14, 2025. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan and Japan held negotiations on avoidance of double taxation of income tax and the prevention of tax evasion on October 6-9, in Bishkek.
According to the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, during the negotiations, the parties discussed in detail the provisions of the draft agreement. As a result, the parties agreed on the draft document. The agreement will be signed after the internal procedures stipulated by the legislation of each party are fully completed.
The main purpose of this agreement is to eliminate double taxation of income of economic entities of the two countries. This will contribute to the creation of favorable conditions for the development of economic cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Japan and the improvement of the investment climate.
In addition, such international agreements are an effective tool for attracting foreign direct investment to the economy of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The document is also aimed at protecting residents of one party from discriminatory taxation in the territory of the other contracting party, preventing tax evasion and abuse of the provisions of the agreement, as well as developing information exchange between the authorized bodies of the two countries.
