Bishkek, July 24, 2026 /Kabar/. On July 23, Astana hosted meeting of Kyrgyz Energy Minister Altynbek Rysbekov and Kazakh Energy Minister Erlan Akkenzhenov.
According to the Kyrgyz Ministry of Energy, during the talks, the parties discussed current issues of bilateral cooperation in the energy sector, focusing on interaction in the electric power sector and further coordination within the framework of regional water and energy cooperation.
The ministers paid special attention to issues of electricity supply and transit, coordination of energy system operating modes, and further cooperation within the framework of previously reached agreements. Kazakhstan confirmed its readiness to continue close cooperation with the Kyrgyz side on ensuring the reliable operation of energy systems and strengthening regional energy partnerships.
Following the meeting, the ministers reaffirmed their commitment to continue active cooperation on key energy issues.
