Bishkek, Nov. 21, 2025. /Kabar/. Representatives of the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry and KOICA delegation held working meeting at Kyrgyz Agroholding JSC.
According to the ministry, they discuss grant project to establish an agroprocessing center in Jany-Zher village, Sokuluk region, Chui oblast. The delegation was led by the Deputy Director of the KOICA Representative Office in the Kyrgyz Republic. The project is being implemented through grants from the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), with a budget of $5-6 million. The main goal of the initiative is to develop the agricultural value chain, increase farmers' incomes, and expand the region's export potential.
Preparatory matters were discussed at the meeting, including land allocation, preparation of a feasibility study, and the development of work schedule. Participants emphasized the high socioeconomic significance of the future center for the Chui oblast.
KOICA representative noted that the agroprocessing center will become a model facility for the entire agricultural sector of Kyrgyzstan. Following the meeting, the parties agreed on joint actions and a clear coordination mechanism for the timely and successful implementation of the project.
