Bishkek, Sept. 14, 2026 /Kabar/. The active phase of the joint exercise "Rubezh-2026" with the Collective Rapid Deployment Forces of the Central Asian Region (CRDF CAR) of the Collective Security Treaty Organization has begun at the Koktal training ground in Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Defense reported.
The "Rubezh-2026" exercise is being held from September 13 to 18 under the leadership of Colonel Makhsut Huseynov, Commander of the Airborne Assault Troops of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Military contingents from Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Russia, and Tajikistan, as well as operational groups from the CSTO Joint Staff, are participating in the exercise.
During the exercise, military personnel are practicing preparing for and conducting joint operations to suppress the activities of illegal armed groups that have invaded the territory of a CSTO member state.
A total of approximately 1,500 military personnel and over 300 units of military and special equipment, including 115 unmanned aerial vehicles of various types, are involved in the exercise.
