Bishkek, Dec. 3, 2025. /Kabar/. Kyrgyz Minister of Natural Resources, Environment, and Technical Supervision Meder Mashiev is participating in London Mining Week.

According to the ministry, the event is taking place in London from December 1 to 6.

On the first day of the event, the minister participated in plenary session with Central Asian ministers as part of the Critical Minerals Association Conference, where he briefly discussed Kyrgyzstan's potential and the work being done to attract investment in the critical minerals sector.

Also that day, he participated in a government roundtable on critical minerals, as well as the Thirteenth Conference on Mining and Mineral Exploration in Eurasia. At the conference, Meder Mashiev delivered presentation on the development of a critical minerals sector development strategy in Kyrgyzstan.

In his speech, he noted that Kyrgyzstan is rapidly developing economy in Central Asia with new investment opportunities in the mining sector. The minister also shared information about why Kyrgyzstan is a promising partner for international investors.

In particular, he noted the presence of critical minerals and promising areas for geological exploration, the low-carbon structure of the electricity sector (over 90% of energy is generated by hydroelectric power plants, which reduces the carbon footprint of production and meets international ESG requirements), and significant strengthening of the legal and investment environment.

Furthermore, a memorandum of understanding on critical minerals is planned to be signed today between the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
