Bishkek, July 21, 2026. /Kabar/. Minister of Health Damir Osmonov participated in the partnership conference of the UN Road Safety Fund (UNRSF).
According to the department, the event was held within the framework of the high-level meeting of the UN General Assembly on road safety.
In his speech, the minister emphasized that road safety for Kyrgyzstan is primarily a matter of saving lives, protecting the health of the population and ensuring the sustainable development of the country.
"For Kyrgyzstan, road safety is primarily a matter of saving lives, protecting the health of the population and ensuring sustainable development. Investments in road safety are investments in human capital and the future of our countries," he said.
The minister noted that Kyrgyzstan will continue to work on improving the professional qualifications of medical workers, introducing modern international protocols for the provision of emergency medical care, reducing the response time to road accidents, as well as strengthening interagency cooperation between the health system, internal affairs bodies, the transport sector, the education system and local self-government bodies.
He paid special attention to improving the system for collecting and analyzing data on injuries from road accidents. It was noted that this is one of the main conditions for developing an effective state policy in the field of road safety.
The minister also noted that Kyrgyzstan welcomed the launch of a new strategic phase of the UN Road Safety Fund for 2027-2030, within which it will consider expanding international partnerships, mobilizing additional resources, and introducing modern solutions aimed at ensuring safe, sustainable mobility.
