Bishkek, Sept. 11, 26 /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan plans to develop an industrial complex in its Talas Oblast for the further processing of straight-run gasoline and diesel fractions, as well as the production of polymer-modified bitumen PG.
A memorandum of intent on the development and implementation of the investment project was signed on September 11 at the Manas Ordo National Complex as part of events marking the 35th anniversary of the independence of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The document was signed by Kyrgyz Minister of Economy and Commerce Bakyt Sydykov and Yerzhan Beisebayev, Director of Kazakhstan-based QAZAQ BITUM Processing, in the presence of President Sadyr Zhaparov, according to the Kyrgyz presidential press service.
The preliminary investment volume is estimated at approximately $350 million.
The project is expected to attract investment and modern technologies, expand domestic production and reduce dependence on imports. It is also intended to strengthen the industrial potential of the Talas region and support the development of Kyrgyzstan’s domestic fuel and construction-materials industries.
