Kyrgyzstan plans to commission 48 small HPPs by 2030

Bishkek, Feb. 24, 2026. /Kabar/. By the end of 2030, Kyrgyzstan plans to commission 48 small HPPs with a total capacity of 420.8 MW. This was announced by Energy Minister Taalaibek Ibraev at meeting of Jogorku Kenesh Committee on Industrial Policy, Transport, Fuel and Energy Complex, Architecture, and Construction.

He also reported that 27 small hydroelectric power plants with a total capacity of 109.8 MW have been commissioned in the republic since 2021. The total electricity generated is 427 million kWh annually.
