Kyrgyzstan proposes promoting Central Asia as unified tourism destination

Bishkek, Sept. 25, 2026 /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan has proposed promoting Central Asian countries as a single tourism destination. This was announced by Eduard Kubatov, Director of the State Agency for Tourism Development, at the 9th ministerial roundtable held during the Tourism Expo Japan international trade show in Japan.

According to the agency, the roundtable discussion covered issues regarding environmental protection, sustainable development, responsible tourism, and international cooperation. Representatives from government bodies and tourism agencies of the Philippines, Jordan, Cambodia, Japan, Georgia, Egypt, and other countries took part in the event.

In his address, Eduard Kubatov highlighted the importance of developing sustainable and responsible tourism, preserving natural and cultural heritage, and improving tourism infrastructure.

According to him, the region's nomadic civilization, historical and cultural heritage, mountain tourism, and natural diversity create opportunities to jointly showcase tourism potential and develop a unified Central Asian tourism product.

"Kyrgyzstan's participation facilitated the exchange of experience in sustainable tourism, the strengthening of international cooperation, and the promotion of the country's tourism potential," the statement read.
