Kyrgyzstan provides free viral hepatitis testing and treatment

Bishkek, July 28, 2026 /Kabar/. Since the introduction of free viral hepatitis testing in 2022, 1,454,324 people have been tested for viral hepatitis B and 1,445,903 people for viral hepatitis C in Kyrgyzstan. Deputy Minister of Health of Kyrgyz Republic Gulbara Ishenapysova informs.

According to her, 48,060 people have tested positive for viral hepatitis B, and 26,117 have tested positive for viral hepatitis C.

Furthermore, Ishenapysova noted that 20,520 people have been tested for viral hepatitis D, with 1,562 testing positive.

"This allows us to detect the disease in its early stages and begin treatment promptly," she said.
