Bishkek, Sept. 29, 2026. /Kabar/. On September 27, a meeting of the Council for Physical Culture and Sports of the CIS Member States on Cooperation in Physical Culture and Sports was held in Almaty.
According to the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports, the meeting was attended by representatives from Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and the CIS Executive Committee.
Following the meeting, a decision was made to host the IV CIS Games in 2027 in Kyrgyzstan.
The Council also unanimously supported the initiative to nominate Bishkek for the honorary status of "Sports Capital of the Commonwealth" in 2027.
Furthermore, in 2027, Kyrgyzstan will assume the chairmanship of the Council for Physical Culture and Sports of the Member States on Cooperation in Physical Culture and Sports.
