Bishkek, Aug, 10, 2026. /Kabar/. Starting October 1, 2026, it is planned to index the insurance portion of pensions and increase the minimum pension to 8,800 soms.

According to the presidential administration, the indexation is being implemented to implement the Kyrgyz president's Decree dated August 10, 2026, and in accordance with Article 7 of the Law on State Pension Social Insurance. The basis for the indexation is the increase in average wages and the consumer price index for the previous calendar year.

According to the National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan, by the end of 2025, the consumer price index was 108.2%, and the average wage had grown by 117.6%. The calculated indexation coefficient is 1.13.

At the same time, taking into account the financial capabilities of the Social Fund budget and to provide additional support to pensioners, an indexation coefficient of 1.20 for the insurance portion of pensions will be established starting October 1, but by no less than 1,000 soms and no more than 10,000 soms.

Furthermore, when a new pension is assigned, its minimum amount cannot be lower than 8,800 soms due to the increase in the basic portion of the pension.

According to preliminary estimates by the Social Fund, the number of pensioners will reach 832,400 as of October 1. 4.4 billion soms have been allocated for the indexation from the Pension Fund.

As a result of the upcoming indexation, the average pension will reach 12,898 soms, the average increase will be 1,753 soms or 116% at the time of the increase.
