Bishkek, Sept. 8, 2026 /Kabar/. A modern beekeeping laboratory will open in Kyrgyzstan. It will determine the quality of honey and check its compliance with international standards. Nurzat Totubaeva, Rector of the K.I. Skryabin Kyrgyz National Agrarian University told on Birinchi Radio.
According to her, Kyrgyz honey is currently among the highest quality in the world. However, due to the lack of a laboratory in the country capable of determining honey quality in accordance with modern requirements, some producers are forced to send samples for testing to Almaty and Russia.
"Until now, our honey producers have conducted their research in Almaty and Russia. Now we will have our own laboratory that will determine honey quality and meet international standards," she said. As the rector noted, the creation of the laboratory will provide local producers with the opportunity to confirm the quality of their products within the country.
Furthermore, the university plans to establish a research center to develop beekeeping. It will support scientists and focus on integrating science, education, innovation, and production in the agricultural sector.
"Our main goal is to do everything possible to transform the country's agricultural sector into a single, large, modern center that unites science, education, innovation, and production," Totubaeva added.
