Kyrgyzstan, UNICEF to improve child safety during emergencies

Bishkek, July 17, 2026. /Kabar/. First Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Mazaripov met with Ana Dautovich, Acting Representative UNICEF in Kyrgyzstan.

During the meeting, the parties discussed current interactions and future areas of cooperation in disaster risk reduction, emergency preparedness, child protection, and strengthening the capacity of government agencies to prevent and respond to emergencies.

Particular attention was paid to developing early warning systems, raising public awareness of emergency risks, improving interagency cooperation, and ensuring child safety.

Following the talks, the Ministry of Emergency Situations and UNICEF signed a Cooperation Plan, which outlines the main areas of joint work between the parties.
