Bishkek, May 13, 2025. /Kabar/. The Kyrgyzstan - Uzbekistan Tourism Forum was held in Samarkand, UzA reported.
The event was attended by tourism officials from Kyrgyzstan, entrepreneurs operating in Samarkand, and Deputy Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Nurlanbek Azygaliev, who is currently visiting Uzbekistan.
The Chairman of the Tourism Committee, Umid Shodiyev, spoke about ongoing efforts to develop tourism in Uzbekistan, particularly creating a unified tourism destination in Central Asia and implementing joint projects with Kyrgyzstan.
In 2024, more than two million tourists from Kyrgyzstan visited Uzbekistan. 11 daily flights are operating between cities in Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, and citizens of both countries can cross the border using their ID cards.
The President of the Tourism Development Support Fund of Kyrgyzstan, Kylychbek Rysaliev, noted that mutually beneficial cooperation between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan is rapidly advancing across many sectors.
The forum featured presentations on the tourism potential of both countries, as well as the activities of the International Tourism Center in Samarkand and the Silk Road International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage.
