Bishkek, Feb. 4, 2026. /Kabar/. Minister of Health Kanybek Dosmambetov met with WHO representative in Kyrgyzstan, Liviu Vedrasco.
Dosmambetov noted that for more than 30 years, WHO has been making a significant contribution to strengthening the country's healthcare system.
The parties discussed the main areas of cooperation, including the development of primary health care, strengthening human resources, digitalization of the healthcare sector, emergency preparedness, as well as antimicrobial resistance and mental health issues. It was noted that WHO recommendations and technical expertise are widely used in the development of national programs and regulatory legal acts in the healthcare sector.
Minister of Health noted that the WHO Cooperation Strategy with Kyrgyzstan for 2024-2030 is the key document in planning joint activities, while emphasizing the importance of its flexible adaptation in accordance with the current priorities and objectives of the health system.
In addition, special attention was paid to international and national activities in the health sector. In this regard, the role of WHO in harmonizing the efforts of partners, promoting international experience and best practices was noted.
As a result of the meeting, the parties confirmed their readiness to deepen practical interaction, conduct an ongoing dialogue and implement joint initiatives aimed at increasing the efficiency of the health system of Kyrgyzstan and improving the health of the population.
