Kyrgyzstani Razzaq Beishekeev becomes Asian Champion in Greco-Roman Wrestling

Bishkek, April 9, 2026 /Kabar/. The Asian Wrestling Championships continue in Bishkek. Razzaq Beishekeev, a representative of the Kyrgyz national Greco-Roman wrestling team, won the gold medal, the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports of the Kyrgyz Republic said.

The Kyrgyz wrestler competed in the 67 kg weight class and began competing on April 7. On his way to the final, he first defeated a wrestler from the Republic of Korea, and in the semifinals, he defeated a wrestler from Iran in less than two minutes.

In the decisive final bout, he defeated the Japanese athlete and became the Asian Champion.

This is Razzaq Beishekeev's first career gold medal at the Asian Championships.

This brings his team's fourth gold medal to the tournament.

Earlier, on April 7, Aftandil Taalaibek uulu, Akzhol Makhmudov, and Asan Zhanyshov also won first place, thus finishing second in the overall team standings.
