Bishkek, July 15, 2026 /Kabar/. Today, Alina Kartambaeva, judge of Manas city court of Jalal-Abad region, participated in the international conference "Women in the Judicial System: Dialogue, Development and Justice" held in Dushanbe.
As reported by the Supreme Court, the event discussed issues of gender equality in the judicial system, expanding the role of women, and considering cases of public importance.
Kartambaeva noted that gender-sensitive justice is aimed at ensuring equality before the law for all, without giving preference to one gender.
"Out of 501 judges administering justice in Kyrgyzstan, 95 are women. Of these, 12 are chairmen of local courts. Electronic judicial proceedings and remote participation in court (videoconference) will increase access to justice for citizens in remote areas and help protect the safety of victims of violence," she said.
At the end of the conference, the participants expressed their readiness to further expand international cooperation in the field of human rights protection and development of the judicial system.
