Bishkek, March 19, 2025. /Kabar /. The opening ceremony of Kyrgyzstan's largest control storage facility was held on Tuesday in the city of Ulugchat, located in the Kyzylsu Autonomous Region of China.
The event was attended by Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic Bakyt Torobaev, the founder of the Bai-Dyikan company Erlist Akunbekov, Mayor of Heze Tursun Niyaz, as well as representatives of the agro-industrial complex associations of China, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
The ceremony was opened by Bakyt Torobaev, who noted that this project is of strategic importance for the regional economy, social stability, modernization of agriculture and strengthening of trade ties between Central Asia and China.
"This storage facility will help reduce the cost of transporting goods, speed up customs procedures, create convenient conditions for storing and distributing products, and ensure stable trade channels between the countries," the minister said.
The total area of the facility is 13 hectares, of which 7.6 hectares are already fully operational. The control storage facility was built by the Bai-Dyikan company of the Kyrgyz Republic in partnership with a Chinese state corporation. The total investment amounted to $8.3 million.
"We are confident that this project will become the basis for new initiatives in logistics, international trade and mutual investment. It will benefit not only large businesses, but also small and medium-sized entrepreneurs, creating new jobs and providing good opportunities for Kyrgyz entrepreneurs," said the founder of the Bai-Dyikan company, Erlist Akunbekov.
