Bishkek, Nov. 27, 2025 /Kabar/. The expanded meeting of representatives of government agencies, the tourism industry, the expert community, and international organizations on "Promoting Sustainable Tourism. Reducing the Carbon Footprint" was held in Osh as part of the annual national forum "Green Economy," the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
Participants discussed key measures for developing sustainable tourism in the regions, including reducing carbon emissions, implementing green standards, improving the energy efficiency of tourist facilities, and creating conditions for attracting investment in environmentally oriented projects.
Following the meeting, key steps were identified to strengthen public-private partnerships and systematically implement environmentally responsible approaches, which will enhance the competitiveness of the tourism industry and ensure the sustainable development of the regions of the Kyrgyz Republic.
