Bishkek, March 12, 2026 /Kabar/. Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Marlen Mamataliev received Ramil Hasan, Secretary General of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TURKPA), the press service of the Jogorku Kenesh reported.
Marlen Mamataliev noted that strengthening ties between fraternal peoples through parliamentary diplomacy is the call of the times. "Therefore, the new convocation of the Jogorku Kenesh is also interested in close cooperation with all parliaments of the Turkic states and the successful implementation of joint projects within the framework of TURKPA," the speaker said.
He recalled that the next plenary session of TURKPA will be held in Kyrgyzstan this fall. "I am confident that this event will include in-depth negotiations and that we will be able to reach agreements aimed at consistently developing relations and deepening cooperation between the fraternal peoples," he added.
In turn, Ramil Hasan provided detailed information on ongoing projects and upcoming plans, and announced that serious preparations will be made for the upcoming fall session.
He also spoke about the upcoming informal meeting of the heads of parliament of the Assembly's member states, briefly outlining the issues to be discussed there.
During the meeting, the issue of developing the Assembly's partnership with other parliamentary organizations was also raised, discussing opportunities for cooperation with interparliamentary associations not only in the region but also in Europe and Latin America.
TURKPA was established in 2008. Its members include the parliaments of Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and Turkey. Representatives from the parliaments of Hungary, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan actively participate in Assembly events.
