Bishkek, July 31, 2026 /Kabar/. Political expert Sheradil Baktygulov, in his comments to Kabar assessed the significance of the state visit of Uzbek leader to Kyrgyzstan. The expert outlined the main areas of partnership and emphasized the aspirations of presidents to create a new model of good-neighborly relations in Central Asia.
"The state visit of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Kyrgyzstan has become an important milestone in bilateral relations. The main significance of the event is that the summit confirmed the transition of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan from tactical to strategic partnership.
The visit's key priorities spanned several areas, the most important of which were transport and logistics, energy, economics, and humanitarian affairs. The launch of joint projects to operate the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway, which opens new transit corridors to the north, south, west, and east of the Eurasian continent. Another important point was the agreement on the joint use of water and energy resources and the construction of the Kambarata-1 Hydroelectric Power Station to ensure energy security for the entire Central Asian region.
In the economic sphere, the focus was on strengthening industrial cooperation, expanding trade, and intensifying the activities of joint investment funds. And, of course, the humanitarian sphere. The two neighboring nations will strive to deepen cultural exchanges and cooperation in education and science.
"Thus, President Mirziyoyev's state visit cemented the trend toward rapprochement between the two countries and the creation of a "common market" for labor and services, which, in the long term, will shape a new model of good-neighborly relations in Central Asia," concluded Sheradil Baktygulov.
