Bishkek, Sept. 3, 2026 /Kabar/. The trend of national revival, which began in the 1990s, is now entering a new phase. Kyrgyzstan's Ambassador to Germany, Omurbek Tekebayev, told Kabar News Agency.
According to him, after 35 years, the second stage of national revival, a new stage, is beginning.
"The world changed in the 1990s. Now the world is also changing. At such moments, it turns out, new opportunities open up for people, including small states. We are also taking advantage of these opportunities.
The economy is growing steadily year after year. As the saying goes, "when there's bread, there's song," and as the economy grows, we have also begun to pay attention to our history and culture. Because any ambitious plan must have roots, a foundation. Its foundation lies in our history and culture.
I think that today's Nomad Games, creative events, ethnomusic, and ethnographic exhibitions are all manifestations of that national revival. There are a great many spectators. I was surprised not by the foreigners who came, but by the fact that our own citizens, children, elders, and mothers, who came from different regions, are watching and attending these events with interest.
On the one hand, I'm happy, on the other, I'm proud. The new stage of Kyrgyzstan's development is manifested in the economy, our culture, and our self-awareness," Tekebayev said.
