Bishkek, April 16, 2026 /Kabar/. Speaker of Jogorku Kenesh Marlen Mamataliev met with Speaker of Kazakh parliament Yerlan Koshanov in Istanbul.
According to Kyrgyz parliament, the issues of enhancing political-economic, cultural-humanitarian relations between the two countries were discussed, and the parties also exchanged views on the development of inter-parliamentary cooperation.
Marlen Mamataliev noted that inter-parliamentary relations between the two countries remain an effective mechanism for strengthening Kyrgyz-Kazakh relations. The successful holding of the III Inter-Parliamentary Forum of Central Asian countries in Bishkek last year, and the III meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Council in Astana demonstrates expanding cooperation.

In turn, Yerlan Koshanov said that expanding cooperation with Kyrgyzstan is a priority direction in Kazakhstan's foreign policy. He also noted that in recent years, relations between the two countries have reached a new level and are actively continuing in all areas.
