Bishkek, July 8, 2026. /Kabar/. Osh city plans to build new agro-industrial complex aimed at developing agriculture and the processing industry.
According to the city hall, the project will be implemented on an area of 71.35 hectares, and the territory itself will be divided into 18 lots.
According to Mayor Zhanarbek Akaev, livestock farms for meat and dairy production, as well as meat and dairy processing plants, will be built there. These plots of land will also be leased to farmers and private entrepreneurs.
"Once the project is fully operational, approximately 1,000 permanent jobs will be created. Negotiations are currently underway to attract over 1 billion soms in investment for the construction of the complex," the statement says.
The president's special representative for special assignments, Bakyt Torobayev, reviewed the progress of the new production facilities.
It is noted that the Osh City Administration is currently constructing a 20,000 cubic meter reservoir in Konur-Zhaz section. Once operational, it will provide irrigation water for both the agro-industrial complex itself and approximately 400 hectares of nearby dryland. "This will facilitate forage procurement for farmers and create good opportunities for increasing agricultural production," the municipality added.
