Bishkek, Feb 24, 2026 /Kabar/. Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), met with Dr. Hans Henri P. Kluge, the World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Director for Europe, to sign a new Action Plan for the Implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation between the OTS and WHO/EUROPE for 2026-2027.

At the meeting, Secretary General Omuraliev and Director Kluge also discussed prospective cooperation opportunities between the OTS and WHO/Europe, with a focus on emergency preparedness, digitalization, capacity-building programs, and environmentally sustainable healthcare facilities.

Under this Action Plan, both organizations will deepen their collaboration to enhance health security, combat non-communicable diseases (NCDs), promote healthy aging, and advance climate-health initiatives.

The signing of this plan establishes a clear basis for joint activities, ensuring continuity in the strategic framework established between the two organizations. This marks the continued evolution of a partnership, transitioning from foundational planning to concrete regional impact.
