Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) addressed the International Round Table entitled “The Turkic World and the Heritage of Yasawi: Cultural Harmony at the Crossroads of Civilizations” held on 14 May 2026 in Turkistan, Republic of Kazakhstan.
In his remarks, the Secretary General emphasized the enduring spiritual and cultural significance of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi’s legacy for the Turkic world and beyond. He noted that Yasawi’s teachings on compassion, tolerance, justice, and harmony remain highly relevant in today’s world, which faces growing polarization and erosion of moral values.
Referring to the upcoming Informal Summit of the OTS to be held in Turkistan, Ambassador Omuraliev stressed that cultural cooperation and the safeguarding of common heritage remain among the key priorities of the Heads of State of the Turkic States.
The event brought together high-level government officials, heads of international organizations, scholars, cultural experts, and representatives from across the Turkic world to discuss the universal values and lasting influence of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi’s heritage.
