OTS Secretary General addresses at closing ceremony of Almaty – Youth Capital

Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), addressed the closing ceremony of “Almaty – Youth Capital of the Turkic World 2025” initiative held on 14 June 2026 in Almaty, Republic of Kazakhstan.

In his remarks, the Secretary General highlighted the strategic importance of youth for the future development of the Turkic World, noting that nearly 40 percent of the population of OTS Member States consists of young people. 

He emphasized that investing in their education, skills, creativity, and leadership remains a key priority of the OTS and is essential for ensuring the long-term prosperity and resilience of its societies.

During the ceremony, it was officially announced that Khiva, one of the ancient cities of the Republic of Uzbekistan, has been designated as the Youth Capital of the Turkic World for 2026.
