Bishkek, Jan. 13, 2026. /Kabar/. On 12 January 2026, Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States, met with Rafael Mariano Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), at the United Nations Office at Vienna.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on strengthening dialogue and cooperation between the OTS and the IAEA, particularly in the areas of nuclear safety, the peaceful use of nuclear energy, technical cooperation, and capacity building.
The Secretary General emphasized the importance of international cooperation and transparency in ensuring the safe and responsible use of nuclear technologies, while highlighting the growing role of science and technology in the development agendas of the Turkic States.
