OTS secretary general meets Turkic states’ envoys in Geneva

Bishkek, Feb. 12, 2026 /Kabar/. On 11 February 2026, Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), held a meeting with the Heads of the Diplomatic Missions of the OTS Member States accredited in Geneva.

The meeting was attended by Galib Israfilov, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the UN and other International Organizations in Geneva; Erzhan Kazykhanov, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the UN and other International Organizations in Geneva; Omar Sultanov, Permanent Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic to the UN and other International Organizations in Geneva; Burak Akçapar, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Türkiye to the UN and other International Organizations in Geneva; and Eldiyor Toshmatov, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the UN and other International Organizations in Geneva. The deputy secretary general of the OTS also participated in the meeting.

The secretary general highlighted OTS efforts to strengthen member state cooperation, noting that his Geneva visit and the Customs Heads Meeting advance sustainable development in transport and trade.

The participants exchanged views on enhancing coordination among the diplomatic missions in Geneva and explored practical avenues to increase the visibility and representation of the OTS. They also discussed opportunities to deepen engagement and foster mutually beneficial cooperation with Geneva-based international organizations and stakeholders.

The permanent representatives reaffirmed their strong commitment to further strengthening solidarity and coordinated action among the Turkic States in promoting the OTS agenda at the multilateral level and expressed their readiness to actively support the Organization’s initiatives in Geneva.
