Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), participated in the commemorative event organized by the Municipality of İznik and the Consulate of General of the Kyrgyz Republic in İstanbul on 17 May 2026 in the city of İznik.
The event was dedicated to pay tribute to the memory of the Kyrgyz batyrs who fought during the conquest of Iznik in 1331, and was organized as a symbol of brotherhood, friendship and solidarity among the Turkic peoples.
Within the programme, Secretary General Omuraliev met with Mr. Kağan Mehmet Usta, Mayor of İznik, and visited the Kırgız Türbesi, where prayers were recited in memory of the Kyrgyz heroes . The programme also featured a cultural concert by prominent Kyrgyz artists.
