Bishkek, July 17, 2026. /Kabar/. The Kyrgyz Border Service has stepped up preparations for the tourist season and major international events.
According to the relevant agency, the increased number of trips has significantly increased the workload at border crossing points.
In April 2026, over 3 million people crossed the border, and in June, over 3.5 million. Passenger traffic increased by almost 18%. The number of foreign citizens during this period increased from 1.58 million to 1.83 million.
To ensure uninterrupted passage of citizens and vehicles, the Border Service is constantly monitoring the situation and is taking additional measures to account for seasonal increases in traffic.
The agency notes that, as of July 17, all border crossing points are operating normally. No passenger congestion has been recorded on the Kyrgyz side. Freight transport on certain routes is not affecting border crossing operations.
Furthermore, the "Digital Border" mobile app was launched on July 15, allowing users to track queues in real time and plan their border crossings in advance. Information stands have also been installed at border crossing points for the convenience of citizens and visitors.
