Bishkek, Aug. 19, 2026. /Kabar/. Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Ulan Mamatkanov attended the ceremony of handing over 12 special vehicles to the Kyrgyzpharmacy State Enterprise under the Ministry of Health.
Speaking before representatives of the healthcare system, Ulan Mamatkanov noted that protecting the health of the population, improving the quality of medical services and providing citizens with necessary medicines are among the priority areas of state policy.
"In recent years, the country's economy has been growing steadily, and the financial capabilities of the state are also expanding. Economic growth should be reflected in the quality of life of every citizen. In the healthcare sector, systematic work is underway to develop domestic pharmaceutical production, create the necessary stock of medicines, and improve the mechanisms for their purchase and delivery," he said.
The Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers also noted the positive dynamics in the development of the domestic pharmaceutical industry. According to the results of 2025, the volume of pharmaceutical production in the country increased by 1.7 times.
"Our task is to consolidate this positive dynamics and bring the domestic pharmaceutical industry to a new level. It is necessary to attract investments and modern technologies, expand production and gradually reduce dependence on imports," said Ulan Mamatkanov.
He also emphasized the importance of creating a single pharmaceutical chain from the manufacturer to the patient, noting the special role of the Kyrgyzpharmacy State Enterprise in this process. As part of the event, the Kyrgyzpharmacy State Enterprise was presented with 12 special vehicles designed to expand its logistics capabilities and timely delivery of medicines to medical institutions, including remote regions.
It is worth noting that 6 of the 12 special vehicles were presented by the head of state. Before the creation of its own fleet, a significant part of the transportation was carried out with the help of private transport organizations.
Ulan Mamatkanov also noted the special responsibility of the healthcare system in the coming period. Because from August 31 to September 6, Kyrgyzstan will host the VI World Nomad Games, as well as high-level international events within the framework of Kyrgyzstan's chairmanship in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
"These days, many foreign delegations, athletes and guests will come to Kyrgyzstan. Events of such a scale require high readiness and precise work of all state bodies. The healthcare system must be fully prepared," he concluded.
