Bishkek, July 31, 2026. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan is implementing strategic rail, road, aviation, and multimodal projects. President Sadyr Zhaparov announced this at an informal consultative meeting of Central Asian countries' leaders and Azerbaijan.
The president noted that developing transport links is a key area of joint work, and in this context, it is important to ensure the integration and mutual complementarity of our countries' infrastructure projects.
Among the major projects, the head of state highlighted the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway. He also emphasized that energy cooperation is a key factor in sustainable development and praised the agreements reached on mutual electricity supplies. Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan are working together to implement the Kambarata Hydroelectric Power Plant-1 project.
The president also stated that cultural affinities, shared history, and traditional ties form a solid foundation for relations between the countries. Furthermore, the enormous potential for cooperation in tourism was noted.
"The countries of Central Asia and Azerbaijan offer the world a unique heritage, distinguished by ancient cities, Silk Road monuments, mountain and lake landscapes, national traditions, and cultural diversity. Kyrgyzstan has proposed the introduction of a unified tourist visa for foreign citizens to Central Asian countries. I express my gratitude to the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for their support of this initiative. I also hope for the support of other heads of state in this area," Zhaparov said.
The president proposed that the foreign ministries intensify consultations to develop coordinated positions.
Furthermore, Sadyr Zhaparov praised Turkmenistan's chairmanship of the consultative meetings of the heads of state of Central Asia and expressed gratitude to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
The head of state also thanked the Turkmen side for the invitation to the next VIII Consultative Meeting, which will be held on October 8, 2026, in Avaza, and noted that Kyrgyzstan is ready to contribute to the success of the summit.
