Cholpon-Ata, July 31, 2026 /Kabar/. President Sadyr Zhaparov noted that regional cooperation has reached a new qualitative level in recent years at the informal consultative meeting of the heads of Central Asian countries and Azerbaijan.
According to him, the states reached principled, historic agreements on state borders, which contributed to strengthening stability in the region. It was also emphasized that the countries' mutual support in the international arena has increased.
Zhaparov expressed gratitude for the support provided in the nomination of Kyrgyzstan for a non-permanent seat on the UN Security Council for 2027-2028. According to him, the appeal of the Central Asian heads of state to the UN, adopted in Tashkent, was a clear demonstration of regional solidarity.
Sadyr Zhaparov noted that Kyrgyzstan, acting at this important international platform, seeks to promote the common interests of the region.
The president also noted that the development of transport interconnections will remain one of the main areas of joint work. It was noted that railway, automobile, aviation and multimodal projects are being implemented within this framework.
In addition, he noted that the Issyk-Kul region has long been a space for interaction and enrichment of cultures, and expressed confidence that the informal nature of today's meeting will contribute to an open and meaningful exchange of views.
