President Zhaparov: Kyrgyzstan's economy growing amidst fight against corruption

Bishkek, Oct. 6, 2026 /Kabar/. At the end of 2020, Kyrgyzstan's state budget was in a difficult position and running a deficit; however, by the end of 2021, it closed with a surplus of 187 billion soms. President Sadyr Zhaparov announced at the opening ceremony of the "Bishkek Arena" stadium.

According to him, GDP also began to grow starting in late 2021.

"By the end of 2021, our GDP began to grow by at least 9%. And for the last 4–5 years, it has been growing continuously," the president said.

Speaking about the reasons for this economic growth, Zhaparov highlighted the fight against organized crime and corruption.

"Our economy is growing thanks to the elimination of organized crime and the fight against corruption; we still fighting and gradually eliminating it. Thanks to fight, our economy is showing such growth," he emphasized.

The president also linked future economic growth to the preservation of peace, unity, and harmony within the country.

"Most importantly, as long as there is peace, unity, and harmony, our economy will continue to grow, and no one will be able to break us," Zhaparov said.
