President Zhaparov receives heads of Russian regions

Bishkek, Aug 6, 2026. /Kabar/. President Sadyr Zhaparov received the heads of the regions of the Russian Federation today, August 6, in Cholpon-Ata.

The meeting discussed issues of strengthening interregional ties, expanding trade and economic ties, and implementing joint projects.

The president noted the high efficiency of the previous Interregional Conference held in Krasnoyarsk. He emphasized that over the past years, the Forum and the Conference have proven themselves to be an effective platform for direct dialogue between state bodies, business circles and regions of the two countries.

Sadyr Zhaparov also expressed confidence that the VIII Kyrgyz-Russian Economic Forum and the XII Kyrgyz-Russian Interregional Conference, which are being held in Kyrgyzstan, will be an effective mechanism for developing new initiatives and providing additional impetus to mutually beneficial partnerships.

In this context, the president named the creation of joint production facilities in the industrial, pharmaceutical and agricultural processing sectors as one of the promising areas of cooperation.

In addition, the digitalization of the economy and the introduction of modern technologies remain important. Kyrgyzstan is ready to offer Russian partners the opportunities of the High-Tech Park and the Tamchy Special Financial and Investment Zone for the implementation of joint innovative projects.

In turn, the delegation of governors expressed confidence that the agreements reached and the decisions to be developed during the upcoming events will open up new prospects for bilateral economic cooperation.

The heads of the regions paid special attention to the implementation of joint projects in the agro-industrial complex, IT sector and tourism.

It was noted that the systematic strengthening of direct contacts between the business circles of the regions will allow to maintain the high dynamics of trade turnover, but also to create a solid foundation for long-term partnership.

In their speeches, the heads of the regions noted that the regular holding of events of this format will contribute to the expansion of interregional cooperation, the promotion of joint economic projects and the further strengthening of traditional friendly ties between the peoples of Kyrgyzstan and Russia.
