President Zhaparov signs amendments on regulations of Jogorku Kenesh

Bishkek, Jan. 14, 2026. /Kabar/. Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov signed the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic "On amendments of regulations of Jogorku Kenesh".

The law was adopted by the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic on December 24, 2025 to optimize the activities of Kyrgyz Parliament.

The adopted law provides for the following:

– establishing the position of First Deputy Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic;

– the composition of the Jogorku Kenesh committee shall include no more than four deputies from a single faction or parliamentary group;

– the use of an electronic vote-counting system with fingerprint and/or facial recognition is proposed to be introduced beginning January 1, 2027.
