Adil Seifullin, Chairman of the Board of JSC Qazcontent, proposed creating a unified digital media platform and a joint media center for fact-checking and the responsible use of artificial intelligence. He made this statement at the 2026 SCO Media and Analytical Center Forum, noting that the modern media sphere is undergoing profound changes under the influence of digital technologies and artificial intelligence.
According to Seifullin, today's information isn't simply conveyed to audiences; it shapes trust, public opinion, and the perception of states, businesses, and individuals.
"The time has come for SCO countries to speak honestly, openly, and in a modern language with each other and with our audiences. The role of media within the Shanghai Cooperation Organization is becoming especially significant," he emphasized.
The head of Qazcontent noted that the SCO is not only a platform for political, economic, and humanitarian interaction, but also a vast information space where countries need to strengthen mutual understanding, share their joint achievements, and work together to counter information threats.
She emphasized that Kazakhstan is actively developing its digital agenda, including artificial intelligence. He noted that new technologies are already changing the way the media operates from searching and analyzing information to content creation, translation, visualization, and audience engagement.
At the same time, he noted the rise of new challenges, including the spread of fakes, deepfakes, and manipulative content, as well as declining trust in professional media.
In this regard, Seifullin proposed creating a unified digital media platform for SCO countries, which could become a working tool for exchanging verified materials between editorial offices—news, photos, videos, analytics, infographics, and a database of experts.
Furthermore, the Chairman of the Board of JSC Qazcontent proposed the creation of a joint SCO media center for fact-checking and the responsible use of artificial intelligence. Such a center could bring together journalists, editors, analysts, IT specialists, and digital security experts.
"Artificial intelligence should enhance journalism, not replace it. It should help analyze data more quickly, translate materials, and create new formats." "But responsibility for accuracy, ethics, and meaning must always remain with the individual and the editorial team," stated Adil Seifullin.
He also emphasized the importance of exchanging experiences between journalists and media professionals from SCO countries, noting that professional contacts contribute to building trust and developing cooperation.
"Qazcontent is ready to participate in joint media projects and develop cooperation with news organizations from SCO member states," he concluded.
