Repeat drunk driving in Kyrgyzstan leads to imprisonment

Bishkek, June 30, 2026. /Kabar/. In Kyrgyzstan, driving while intoxicated, causing minor property damage, fine starts from 100,000 soms and a three-year driver's license suspension. Baikazy Aitikul uulu, a lawyer from Road Safety Inspectorate of Ministry of Internal Affairs told Kabar.

According to him, the new rules also introduce criminal liability for repeat drunk driving.

"Repeat drunk driving is punishable by imprisonment for one year, a fine of 100,000 to 150,000 soms, and dismissal from office," he emphasized.
