Bishkek, July 31,2026 /Kabar/. In Cholpon-Ata, Issyk-Kul region, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov held talks with President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan, the Kyrgyz presidential administration reports.

During the one-on-one meeting, Sadyr Zhaparov thanked the President of Azerbaijan for accepting the invitation to pay a state visit to Kyrgyzstan, expressing confidence that this visit would give new impetus to the further development of Kyrgyz-Azerbaijani cooperation.

During the meeting, Sadyr Zhaparov, in his welcoming remarks, noted the significant potential for expanding bilateral cooperation in the fields of economics, investment, transport, energy, education, and other areas.

The president of Kyrgyzstan expressed confidence that the negotiations would be held in a constructive and trusting atmosphere, and that the agreements reached would contribute to strengthening cooperation and improving the well-being of the peoples of the two countries.

The head of state emphasized the special significance of the upcoming signing of the Treaty on Alliance Relations between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Azerbaijan, which will mark a key stage in the development of bilateral ties.

In turn, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev noted Kyrgyzstan's significant progress in socioeconomic development, strengthening its economic potential, and enhancing its international prestige.

Ilham Aliyev emphasized that Azerbaijan sincerely rejoices at the successes of its brotherly people.

The president of Azerbaijan praised joint projects, including the construction of the Aykol Manas Secondary School in Aghdam region of Karabakh, the activities of the Kyrgyz-Azerbaijani Development Fund, cultural exchanges, and Azerbaijan's contribution to the development of tourism on Lake Issyk-Kul.

The heads of state expressed confidence that the agreements reached will contribute to the further strengthening of fraternal and allied relations between Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan for the benefit of the peoples of the two countries.
