Sadyr Zhaparov arrives in Samarkand to participate in Central Asia-EU summit

Bishkek, April 3, 2025. /Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov today, April 3, arrived in Samarkand to participate in the Central Asia-European Union summit, the press service of the head of state reported.

The head of state's plane landed at the Samarkand airport.

President Sadyr Zhaparov was met by Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov and other officials.

Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration of Kyrgyzstan Muratbek Azymbakiev told that today the head of state will meet with President of the European Council Antonio Costa and the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen. There will also be an official meeting between President Sadyr Zhaparov and President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

"During the talks, issues of political, trade, economic, investment, cultural and humanitarian cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the European Union and Uzbekistan will be discussed.

On April 4, Sadyr Zhaparov will take part in the Central Asia – European Union summit and deliver speech at the International Forum “Central Asia in the Face of Global Climate Threats: Solidarity for Common Prosperity”. Following the summit and the international climate forum, joint documents are expected to be adopted,” Muratbek Azymbakiev said.
