Sadyr Zhaparov meets with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi

Bishkek, Aug. 31, 2026. /Kabar/. Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi today, August 31.

The two sides discussed a wide range of bilateral issues, focusing on strengthening trade and economic cooperation, partnership in healthcare, and enhancing investment cooperation between the two countries. Sadyr Zhaparov warmly congratulated Narendra Modi on the 80th anniversary of India's independence. He emphasized the traditionally friendly and strategic nature of relations between the countries, based on close friendship, mutual respect, and trust.

President Sadyr Zhaparov identified education, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and IT technologies as priority areas offering significant opportunities for developing cooperation.

In turn, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and noted the steady and dynamic development of interstate relations.

Narendra Modi confirmed Delhi's full commitment to actively expand mutually beneficial cooperation and comprehensively strengthen the strategic partnership.

Following the meeting, the parties expressed mutual confidence that the agreements reached and the identified milestones will help identify concrete steps to elevate Kyrgyz-Indian cooperation to a qualitatively new level.
