Bishkek, July 28, 2026 /Kabar/. The forum of media and analytical centers of the SCO member states concluded in Bishkek as part of Kyrgyzstan's chairmanship of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
The forum, organized by the Kyrgyz National News Agency "Kabar" jointly with the Chinese news agency "Xinhua," was held under the motto "The SCO in a New Era: From Mutual Understanding to Practical Cooperation."
Approximately 250 representatives from 26 SCO member states, observer countries, and partner organizations participated. These included heads of national news agencies, editors-in-chief, representatives of media outlets, think tanks, academic institutions, government agencies, and international organizations.
During the forum, participants discussed the role of media and think tanks in strengthening mutual trust between states, as well as issues related to the development of information cooperation.
In addition, they exchanged views on combating disinformation, the digital transformation of media, the potential of artificial intelligence, and the expansion of humanitarian and economic ties.
The plenary session featured presentations on trade and economic cooperation, the development of infrastructure links, green development, cultural and humanitarian ties, intercivilizational dialogue, and the role of new technologies.
Participants emphasized the importance of strengthening information and expert cooperation within the SCO and proposed joint initiatives aimed at expanding ties between media and think tanks.
The forum became an important platform for deepening mutual understanding, building trust, and expanding practical cooperation between SCO countries.
The forum included an official opening ceremony and plenary sessions.
