Bishkek, Sept. 2, 2026 /Kabar/. Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan intend to increase bilateral trade to $200 million. Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif told at the meeting with Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov.
According to him, Sadyr Zhaparov's visit to Pakistan created opportunities for further strengthening bilateral relations and developing cooperation.
"There, we proposed and discussed many initiatives. For example, our students were trained in the medical and pharmaceutical industries, and we also discussed initiatives in many manufacturing sectors," Shehbaz Sharif said.
He emphasized that it is now necessary to move from discussing initiatives to their practical implementation, including through the implementation of agreements, memoranda, and other agreements reached.
"We have promised to increase bilateral trade volume to $200 million," the Pakistani Prime Minister stated.
Sharif also stated that Pakistan attaches great importance to developing and strengthening transit corridors with Kyrgyzstan.
"Pakistan has proposed its initiatives to Kyrgyzstan to open roads and ports. I believe we need to work together in this direction and implement these initiatives. This will help us open new routes through China and Uzbekistan. We have already sent the first cargo, and it has successfully arrived in Pakistan. We need to continue working in this direction and resolve emerging issues," the Pakistani Prime Minister noted.
Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Kyrgyzstan on an official visit on August 31.
