Bishkek, Feb. 16, 2026. /Kabar/. Speaker of Jogorku Kenesh, Marlen Mamataliev, received the Ambassador of Germany to Kyrgyzstan, Monika Lenhard.
As reported by the parliament, the Speaker first expressed confidence that Monika Lenhard, as an experienced ambassador, will bring cooperation between the two countries to a new level.
Also, noting the great role of interparliamentary dialogue in the development of relations between the two countries, Marlen Mamataliev said: "Germany is a country with a long history in the field of parliamentarism. Therefore, the exchange of experience in the legislative sphere is very important for us."
In addition, recalling that three years ago, members of the Bundestag's "Germany - Central Asia" friendship group visited Kyrgyzstan and held serious talks aimed at deepening interparliamentary relations, the Speaker also emphasized the great impact of such meetings in enhancing cooperation. Accordingly, Marlen Mamataliev, speaking about his plan to pay an official visit to Germany in the near future, said: "I intend that any meeting, any business trip, will be beneficial for both countries. Therefore, I am deeply confident that during the official visit we will hold talks that will strengthen ties between Kyrgyzstan and Germany."
In addition, the chairman noted the need to develop trade and economic relations between the two countries: "Last year, the fifth meeting of the Kyrgyz-German Business Council and a business forum were held in Berlin. 15 memorandums were signed and agreements were concluded between businessmen. We need to continue our efforts to further develop ties in this area and resolve trade and logistics issues. Kyrgyzstan is interested in strengthening its role as a transport hub in the region," he said.
In turn, Ambassador Monika Lenhard also congratulated Marlen Mamataliev on his election as Speaker of Jogorku Kenesh and thanked him for the warm welcome.
She also expressed her full support for the organization of the Speaker's official visit, adding that Germany is interested in cooperation with Kyrgyzstan in all areas, including strengthening inter-parliamentary ties.
