Bishkek, June 2, 2026 /Kabar/. Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh Marlen Mamataliev received on Monday Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Kyrgyzstan Nury Golliyev to discuss the current state and prospects of Kyrgyz-Turkmen cooperation.
The sides exchanged views on bilateral relations and interparliamentary cooperation. Mamataliev noted that Kyrgyzstan is interested in expanding cooperation with fraternal Turkmenistan across all areas and emphasized that interstate relations have been developing dynamically in recent years thanks to the efforts of the two countries' leaders.
The Speaker highlighted the strengthening of interparliamentary ties as one of the key priorities, noting the active interaction between the legislative bodies of the two countries. In this regard, he recalled his recent meeting with Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan Dunyagozel Gulmanova in St. Petersburg, during which the parties discussed ways to further enhance bilateral cooperation.
Mamataliev also stressed the importance of expanding trade and economic relations.
“We have significant opportunities to increase trade turnover. It is necessary to implement joint economic and investment projects and elevate our trade relations to a new level,” he said.
The parties also discussed prospects for deepening cultural and humanitarian cooperation. Mamataliev invited Turkmen athletes and representatives of the Turkmen people to participate in the 6th World Nomad Games, which will be held in Kyrgyzstan this year.
For his part, Ambassador Golliyev thanked the speaker for the warm reception and spoke about ongoing efforts to strengthen Kyrgyz-Turkmen relations, including interparliamentary cooperation.
The ambassador also shared information about his diplomatic activities and noted the positive dynamics in the development of bilateral relations.
In addition, the parties underscored the importance of organizing mutual visits and exchanged proposals aimed at further strengthening cooperation between the two countries.
